Germany Football Chief Niersbach Resigns Over Corruption Scandal

Wolfgang Niersbach has stepped down as president of German Football Federation (DFB) over allegations that the country had won the right to host the football World Cup in 2006 by bribing the executive committee members of the International Football Federation (FIFA).
Announcing his resignation after an emergency meeting of the DFB’s standing committee, Niersbach denied any involvement in an alleged transfer of 6.7 million euros to the FIFA from a secret account of the DFB in early 2005.
As a member of the World Cup 2006 organising committee in charge of marketing, media accreditation and events organising, he had worked correctly and responsibly and he has nothing to hide, he said in a statement.

However, he is resigning to take the ‘political responsibility’ for the charges made against Germany’s apex football body and to limit the damage to its president’s office, the statement said.
Niersbach, who took over as the DFB president in March 2012, said it was painful for him to be confronted with a past issue in which “I was not involved at that time and leaves many questions unanswered also for myself”.

DFB announced that Niersbach will be succeeded by current vice-presidents Reinhard Rauball and Rainer Koch. Niersbach has been under pressure to step down since the allegations of ‘vote buying’ from the FIFA executive committee members for Germany’s candidacy emerged in October. The bribery allegations centred around a payment of 6.7 million euros made by former Adidas CEO Robert Louis-Dreyfus to the FIFA for its World Cup organising committee.

Wenger Furious To See Harry Kane Playing For Tottenham

Arsene Wenger lets it known he is "furious" to see Harry Kane playing for Tottenham as opposed to Arsenal.

The English boy spent a year with the Arsenal as an adolescent before leaving the club and eventually marking for Spurs at 11 years old.

Wenger didn't know about Kane's Gunners history until prior this week, however, admits it will disappoint to see him line up for the Spurs at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

"I didn't realize that [Kane was at Arsenal] until I read it in the papers," he said.

"I discovered it interesting, you know, yet you are dependably a touch furious too because I asked - why did he go?

"Be that as it may, at nine years old, young men can move here and there. A few individuals move from Tottenham to Arsenal. At youth level, because their guardians locate an alternate occupation, they frequently move elsewhere.

"How great would he be able to be,  I don't know who you could compare him and yet I think he can be a top player. He has high qualities, and I think he will make an extraordinary footballer."

Wenger precluded the possibility of endeavoring to take Kane back to Arsenal, then again, now that he is built up as a Tottenham top pick.

"Once a player is at Spurs you don't considerably think of him as any longer to be on your radar because you don't verifiably have numerous exchanges from one club to the next," he included.

I guess that saying what you don't appreciate you lose. However am certain some Arsenal fans wouldn't mind having him as theirs. Would you ?

Mikel John Obi:"We are directly behind the coach".

Mikel John Obi says the players still have faith in Mourinho. "We are directly behind the coach," the midfielder said. "There's most likely about it. In preparing, we work hard. If anybody can turn this around, we unquestionably believe he's the one. A year ago we were champions. We won two trophies. José knows this club more than some other director. He's the best history in the club's history.

" I certainly feel that, if anything isn't right if anything can be corrected, he is the one. There's nobody out there that is going to come in and fix what's going on. On the off chance that you tell the team that we are not giving 100% then, there is the uncertainty, but rather we are giving 100%, we are playing for the coach, we are directly behind him.

It's just that things aren't going great, so everybody [outside] thinks him needs to go. I don't believe it's the right approach to go. I imagine that inside that changing area we certainly trust he is the man to change things. He knows this club in and out. He comprehends what's wrong, and it's simply a question of time before results begin coming. We are playing great; we are working hard in preparing. It's only the outcomes aren't coming."

Nice to see the players are supporting Mourinho, we know it's a horrible start to the season but sacking the coach now isn't ideal. If Chelsea FC aspires to be a great club, then they should learn to stick with their coaches and not just sack them when results aren't great.  Gret clubs and coaches do have these sort of set back sometimes; Sir Alex Ferguson did, Manchester United didn't sack him then. He turned Manchester to a great club after and still is.

No one recognizes what will happen tomorrow. Whatever I can say is that I will dependably give my best for my club and Portugal."

That best may be sufficient to acquire him a third progressive Ballon d'Or in January, despite the fact that Lionel Messi is viewed by numerous as the top pick, having awed in Barcelona's treble-winning season.

Ronaldo, Real's record goalscorer, has no questions which he supposes is the best player on the planet.  Ronaldo said; "Maybe for you the best is Messi, another may believe it's Andrés Iniesta. I regard that however for me I'm the best."

Madrid host Paris St-Germain in the Champions League game today Tuesday the 3rd November 20115.

Vibrant Nigerian U17 Crushes Brazil In A 3-0 Victory

Holders Nigeria cruised into the FIFA U-17 World Cup semi-finals after stunning Brazil with three goals in five first half minutes in a 3-0 victory. Victor Osimhen, with his eighth goal in five games, Kingsley Michael and Udochukwu Anumudu battered Brazil, and the Golden Eaglets played the rest of the game out at a canter to reach the final four.

A Seleção were made to rue those missed opportunities when the lethal Osimhen extended his lead at the top of the goalscoring charts. John Lazarus crossed from the Nigerian right and the Nigerian No9 headed in, via a deflection off Eder Militao.

Moments later, Nigeria doubled their lead, Osimhen instrumental once more. The forward hooked a bouncing ball back over his shoulder, with Michael following in. The ball bounced up off the turf and past Juliano. The Brazilian No1 was deceived by another bounce just four minutes later, as Anumudu hit a left-footed drive from distance. The effort skipped off the turf, and past the stopper, who was visibly unhappy at not keeping the shot out.

The second period saw few clear-cut opportunities, with Funsho Bamgboye and Evander going closest for either side but, in truth, it was a mere procession for the holders to take a step closer to retaining their title.
