Coach Amodu has managed the Super Eagles of Nigeria a record five times. Amodu is remembered also for qualifying Nigeria for the first FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Africa in 2010 but he was not deemed to lead the Eagles to the tournament when the Glass House moved to choose another manager for the event.
In some quarters, rumours were going on that he was owed 7 months which NFF has stated now to be 2 months. The NFF pledged to pay all outstanding salaries to the bereaved family.
