Sepp Blatter Says Orji Uzor Kalu Is Extremely Qualified

FIFA Presidency: Sepp Blatter supports Orji Uzor Kalu

Suspended FIFA president Sepp Joseph Blatter has announced his backing for previous Nigerian Abia state Governor Dr Orji Uzor Kalu to win the position of FIFA President.

Talking in Zurich, Blatter explained that the position of the FIFA president is too critical to be left to simply anyone.
He said he knew about a few hopefuls who want to assume the position from him.
Blatter said he discovered the Businessman from Nigeria Orji Uzor Kalu extremely qualified and intriguing because he is a specialist, as well as a former government official with loads of contacts and corporate experience. He believes Uzor Kalu can convey his incredible encounters to shoulder in the running of world football.

Blatter seems to be excited about Kalu; the suspended Fifa President recalled how he supported one of Nigerian clubs to win the CAF title twice. Blatter is confident Kalu would take world football to a much better level if he wins. Blatter said however Kalu had not formally proclaimed his interest.

Good to see Blatter supporting an African aspirant. However we think Kalu would find this contest a tough one, few days ago NFF (Nigerian Football Federation) publicly supported Segun Odegbami instead of Kalu. Then last Friday Tokyo Sexwale, South African business person says he plans to be a contestant in the FIFA presidential election and would submit his application before the deadline. With this development, one is forced to wonder what would be Kalu's chances.

Nevertheless, we think with Kalu Africa stands a superior chance, it is to the greatest advantage of Africa to elect someone with profound energy for world football.  If Africa would like to win the backing of different leagues, then they must line behind the African represnstaives.

CAF is relied upon to meet one week from now to settle on a contender for the decision planned for one year from now. So far only three competitors competing for the post from Africa; Orji Uzor Kalu, Segun Odegbami and Tokyo Sexwale.

Nigerian or South African? who would you love to represent Africa in the Fifa presidential election ?
