FRANCE international Lassana Diarra has confirmed his cousin was one of the victims in the Paris terrorist atrocities on Friday.

FRANCE international Lassana Diarra has confirmed his cousin was one of the victims in the Paris terrorist atrocities on Friday.

The former Premier League star was playing in the friendly against Germany at the Stade de France — where two suicide bomb attacks took place outside the stadium.

And Diarra revealed on Twitter his cousin, Asta Diakite, was one of the 127 people to lose their lives in the attacks on the French capital.
He said: “After the dramatic events that happened here in Paris, it is with a heavy heart that I write these words today.
“As you may have read, I have personally been affected by these attacks. My cousin Asta Diakite, was one of the victims of the shootings that happened here, like many other innocent French people.

“She supported me like a big sister.
“In this climate of terror it is important for all of us that we represent this diverse country and promise to stay united in the face of this horror that doesn’t have a colour or religion.

“We will together defend love, respect and peace. Thank you for your messages and hope that the victims rest in peace. #PrayForPeace #FranceUnie.”
Explosions could be heard outside the ground during the game and fans sought refuge the pitch after the final whistle as they were too scared to leave.

One of the suicide bombers at France’s national stadium was stopped getting into the ground by a hero security guard.
The French head to Wembley to play England in another high-profile friendly on Tuesday after the decision was made not to cancel the game.
