Somalian Football League Set For Its First TV Live Game

Somalian local football league set for TV debut

History will be made in Somalia this week when a football match played in the nation will be shown live on TV interestingly.

The General Da'ud Cup finals of Somali police Football Club Heegan FC against Somali military club Horseed will be screened on Somali National Television.

Somali Football Federation president Abdiqani Said Arab described the first run through live reach as "an achievement".

The nation is recuperating from decades-long distress and rebellion.

Said Arab included: "We had since a long time ago longed for getting our matches observed live. This is very nearly the acknowledgment of our age-old dreams.

"This will be a test, however in the event that we are fruitful in this try, we will attempt to get our matches go live in the months to come."

General Da'ud Cup is the second most viewed event in Somalia and it is held each year in the recognition of the author of Somalia's Armed Forces, General Da'ud Abdulle Hersi.

The late General Da'ud passed on in 1965, and the Somali Football Federation has been sorting out the yearly football occasion after 1972.

Congrats to all my Somalian readers.
